In April, the blooming of magnolias gradually begins in the Botanical Garden of the University of Latvia, delighting visitors until the beginning of May. The first magnolia flowers can be seen already now.

Magnolias are ancient plants, indicated by the simple structure of the flower. There is a great diversity of Magnolia species in the mountainous areas of China and Japan. From this area, only the most tolerant species grow in the Garden collection. Magnolias, which grow in North and Central America, bloom in early June. The Botanical Garden of the University of Latvia has the largest collection of Magnolias in Latvia with 17 species and varieties to be seen.

We remind that until May 12, only the outdoor area of the Garden is available to visitors and a 25% discount is applied for the purchase of entrance tickets, as well as for the purchase of Garden subscriptions. We are waiting for visitors every day from 10.00 to 19.00!
