An exhibition dedicated to the Mediterranean plants, food recipes and books was opened in 22th of October in the Botanical Garden of the University of Latvia. On Saturday, October 25, both adults and children are welcome to "Bambino in giardino" - a special program with interesting Italian activities.

The exhibition "Tastes of Italy" is organized during the Italian Language Week that is celebrated last 14 years all around the world. In different activities anybody has opportunity to discover Italian language, traditions, history, culture and achievements. The exhibition at the Botanical Garden is both informative and botanical - plants that are used in the traditional Italian cuisine or mentioned in the literature are collected and described.

In the 25th of October from 12:00-15:00 during the culture program "Bambino in giardino" the representatives from the Botanical Garden of the University of Latvia, Dante Alighieri Society, Botanical Garden Friends, and the Creative Training Center of Ikšķile will open the exhibition "Tastes of Italy" and organize creative workshops - make-up, Italian fairy tales, applique, bookmarks. Besides, the publishing house "Jumava" will offer Italian cookbooks and other editions for cheaper price. Also a degustation of Italian food is in schedule.
